Now that I have your attention…..The presence of these nasty sea creatures on the water’s edge means one thing-get ready for the Nor Easters.
There is still a 2/3ft south swell running today with a couple of bigger ones at Wanda so the smart surfers went north. The banks are very tide dependant but still seem to be separated by rips, but south at the Alley it’s all a bit average.
The Swellnet forecast predicts the winds to blow from the north for the rest of the week turning the swell direction with it, pity the wind won’t swing as well! The wave height should stick around waist high albeit with some wind resistance.
I took this morning’s pictures at Nth Cronulla where it was all kids and Mals, with a bit of an Alley rip. Meanwhile at Wanda Wylie surfed by himself on a couple of decent half banks and wondered where all the people were.
With only small and fading surf on offer today, event organizers have been prompted to call a lay day at stop No. 9 on the 2015 Samsung Galaxy World Surf League Championship Tour ,the Quiksilver and Roxy Pro France.
"Incredible five days of surfing so far, but we're going to call competition OFF for the day,," said WSL Men's Deputy Commissioner, Renato Hickel. "The forecast is for the new swell to start building tomorrow afternoon and Thursday seems to have similar conditions than the best day we've had so far."
This contest has had everything from 8 ft bombs to 3ft barrels, it’s down to the business end now and the usual suspects are lining up for the victory croissant! My wish is for Mick but my money is on De Souza! AND hopefully Tyler Wright can get some points in the womens ratings.

They are running 2 banks one on either side of the Pier 60 heats a day (good luck with that one)- the only semi local interest we have is Stanwell’s Kalani Ball and his mate Luke Wrice are in the Australian team-I havnt seen any pics of the Aussies in action yet.
Before the paint has dried its been announced that next years VISSLA ISA World Junior Surfing Championship will take place in the Azores islands of Portugal. Jay Brown should stick his hand up and have a go!
Back in Aus, Surfing Australia proudly announced SurfGroms is back and better than ever for a fifth year, with a brand new major sponsor in Sanitarium Weet-Bix on board for the next three years. ‘We hope you’ve had your Weet-Bix,’ will be ringing in the ears of frothing groms across Australian beaches –Vegemite has been made redundant!
Finally there are more contests for kids than kids-with the Wahu Surfer Groms Comp series to continue its run through NSW with event three of the ten-event series taking place in Kiama this forthcoming weekend. It gets to Cronulla on the December the 19/20th.
