It's summer time and the living is easy-it’s a pity the full moon /1.9 m high tide made this morning’s good swell a little unpredictable.
The swell was a good size up the beach and the banks were just hanging in there and spitting out some nice offshore waves. It picked up yesterday from the south even though the wind was howling from the nor-east.
Swellnet forecasts this swell to hold for the rest of the week with the waves peaking early Thursday before a southerly change is due during the day and we are looking at a morning of north-westerly winds preceding the change.
Friday’s conditions look likely to be bigger at 4/5ft but with south east winds so it could be a bit funky. The weekend drops the bundle a little with the swell dropping to 2ft with nor east winds,nor west on Sunday hopefully.

With this year’s Taiwan Open of Surfing being upgraded to a QS1,500 event there are QS points to be had-If Connor won the event the points wouldn’t be enough to help him qualify. He has to go big in Hawaii.

The Billabong Pipe Masters (December 8 – 20) in Memory of Andy Irons will determine the 2015 WSL Champion amongst the six remaining contenders: Mick Fanning (AUS), Filipe Toledo (BRA), Adriano de Souza (BRA), Gabriel Medina (BRA), Owen Wright (AUS) and Julian Wilson (AUS).
Finally a year after becoming World Longboard Champion, Australian Chelsea Williams is looking to make it back-to-back wins the 2015 Jeep World Longboard Championship presented by Wanning.
Having finished runner-up for the Title four times in the past, taking the number one spot last year was a huge relief for Williams who will arrive in China for this year’s event feeling far more relaxed than previous years.
“It feels different this year,” Williams said. “I feel like this massive weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. I’ve always put so much pressure on myself to win but it’s gone now, I feel so much more relaxed and can't wait to surf my heats without that pressure and just have fun.”
