Retired Australian Test batsman Chris Rogers is the special guest at the St George District Cricket Club’s annual presentation dinner tonight.
The former opener will speak at the event at Club Central, Hurstville, with more than 300 guests invited.
Past and present players, officials, supporters and sponsors will be at the function.
Rogers retired at the end of the 2015 Ashes series.
Had he continue to bat on, Rogers would have more than likely been playing in the current Australia and New Zealand Test series.
The left-handed opener played 25 Tests and scored 2015 runs, averaging 42.87.
In first class cricket, Rogers scored 24,460 runs averaging 49.81. for Australia, Western Australia and Victoria and in English county matches.
Rogers is understood to want to continue playing in the English county season next year.
St George president Kevin Greene said they were pleased to have Rogers as guest speaker at this year’s dinner.
The event starts at 7pm.
