Country duo
LIVE GIG: Amber Lawrence and Luke O'Shea (pictured), two singer/songwriters each of whom has garnered awards from the Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA), will entertain patrons from 7pm Sunday at the Brass Monkey, Cronulla.
Shire boy O'Shea has won six CMAA Golden Guitar awards, including the 2015 Male Artist Of The Year title, while Lawrence is this year's CMAA Female Artist of the Year.
Sunday's show is a double bill as part of their Golden Roads tour.
Swing band show
LIVE GIG: Sydney jazz singer Helen Fenton, who has appeared at a number of Sydney and NSW jazz festivals this year, will continue the legacy of her late father, Syd Gubbayby, by directing the Sydney Sound Big Band.
The 16-piece swing band has appeared at Rockdale RSL Club for 11 years.
Fenton has worked with many other bands and musicians around Sydney, in the private and corporate arena.
She also hosts her own radio program on Eastside Radio, a community based station, where she plays mainstream jazz from the '30s and '40s swing era to that of the present day, and has produced two CDs on the La Brava label.
She will appear with the Sydney Sound Big Band for the last time this year at Rockdale RSL on Thursday, December 10, at 7.30pm.
Marvin Gaye tribute
LIVE SHOW: The Marvin Gaye Experience honours the singer/songwriter, producer and pioneer of Motown.
Gaye helped shape the sound of soul music and his hits include What's Going On, Heard It Through The Grapevine and Sexual Healing.
Soul artist Darryl Beaton, of Sans Souci, will be part of the tribute show. Beaton is the musical director for singer Jessica Mauboy.
The two-hour live tribute also features other soul artists, including Doug Williams of The Voice Australia 2014.
