Cronulla High School's upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz promises to be the hit of the school season when it makes its brilliant appearance on stage next month (December 2-4) in the school hall.
Expect the lot — a troupe of 78 students including actors, dancers, band and crew members, and munchkins played by pupils from Kurnell Public School.
This will be the school's fourth musical and will mirror the dialogue from the popular film.
The school's head of performing arts Sue Geldart said this production was the most challenging.
"With each musical we have become more involved," she said.
"We've been lucky because one of our parents has helped with the set — it's a recycled set from our Oliver production.
"We were also contacted by someone who owns a performing arts school and they had done The Wizard of Oz and were looking to get rid of their stuff, so they donated costumes and props to us."
Oh, and the star act is a little dog.
"During high school orientation a year 6 girl came to us and asked if her dog could be in it," Ms Geldart said.
"The dog's name is actually Toto and it's the same breed as in the movie."
Tickets are $15 adults, $10 concession and $40 for a family.
