The Leader story published on November 19, "Road danger alert: New calls to upgrade deadly Heathcote bridge", stated that the necessary funding won't be available until 2016-17.
Then, the next day you carried the subsequent news "WestConnex project increases by nearly $2 billion to $16.8 billion".
It's not only ironic, but scandalous that our Roads Minister, Duncan Gay, can pour billions and billions of tax dollars into the white elephant which is WestConnex, yet sees no urgency in improving a relatively small local bridge that's already claimed so many lives.
