Back in 2006, ARPANSA's 's Dr John Loy promised a nuclear waste-management plan would have to be written in blood before the new reactor could be commissioned.
A decade after this new reactor was commissioned anyway, ANSTO has informed Sutherland Shire residents they're shipping in a load of reprocessed nuclear waste back to the original site of its manufacture, Lucas Heights, in all probability where they intended it to go all along.
Not only do we not need this waste dumped in Sydney suburbs, every time it's moved by ship, through the streets of Wollongong, Sutherland or whereever, there's potential danger of radiation.
