The crackdown announced by the minister on hoon jet skiers would be welcome, but the real problem is lack of resources to enforce existing speed and distance-off regulations. Talk is cheap, minister. What we need is a corresponding increase in BSOs and water police out on the river and bay especially on weekends for stupid and dangerous behaviour. No sign of any crackdown around Dolls Point recently where it is stupidity on steroids every weekend.

I support the plan to bring the Georges River jet-ski hoons under control.
I live in Lugarno where the 8-knot speed limit is simply ignored. They hunt in packs of up to 10 skis with speeds in our area frequently exceeding 40 knots.
When police are in the area, speeds drop: it seems hoons' mobiles are effective in warning mates of their presence.
I would be happy to have a CCTV camera on my property. It would pay for its installation in one weekend.
