Re the letter from Bruce ("Dogs in reserve", Your View, January 6).
I am one of those "shy intrepid walkers" from another part of the St George area who has also been startled by the sudden "bump" from over-excited mutts on my regular early morning walk.
Dogs are unpredictable and no amount of reassurance from a grinning owner will convince me that his/her dog poses no danger to me.
Bruce goes on to request that the "squeaky wheel" walkers accept responsibility and apply some common sense.
I suggest that dog owners do the same and carefully consider the size of their dog in proportion to the size of their backyard.
If the backyard is not big enough for the dog to get its daily exercise, buy a smaller dog.
