It was another fiercely competitive night on Rod Laver Arena with Germany’s Angelique Kerber defeating world No.1 Serena Williams 6-4, 3-6, 6-4, and claiming the Australian Open women’s singles title.
Jamie Murray of Great Britain and Bruno Soares of Brazil won the men’s doubles final match against Daniel Nestor of Canada and Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic.
