Sutherland and Sydney Olympic scored encouraging wins over Victorian giants South Melbourne in pre-season friendlies last weekend.
Olympic hosted South Melbourne at Jubilee Oval, Carlton on Friday night and won 4-3 on penalties after a goalless draw to lift the Bank of Sydney Cup.
The Sharks were more convincing, running out 2-0 winners at Seymour Shaw Park on Sunday.
Sydney Olympic director Kimon Giannopoulos said a few thousand spectators attended on Friday night.
"The Bank of Sydney Cup demonstrates the initiative and passion that still exists at NPL level to give football supporters matches they have not seen for many years since the rise of the A-League,” he said.
“Sydney Olympic took the opportunity on the night to launch the Sydney Olympic in Business initiative to say thank you to its loyal business sponsors by hosting a networking event before kick-off.
"We were very pleased to see over 100 of our business sponsors in attendance as well as a few thousand of our loyal supporters.
“Their continued support makes Sydney Olympic the proud club that it is today."

Olympic went down 4-1 to Rockdale City in their second trial of the weekend on Sunday night.

Sydney Olympic will travel to Lambert Park for their clash with APIA Leichhardt, while Rockdale City host 2015 champions Bonnyrigg White Eagles, also on March 13.
