Historic Lydham Hall at Bexley will reopen this Sunday after being closed after storm damage in January.
Following the storm, rain damage was assessed and repairs have been made.
Built in 1860, Lydham Hall is one of the oldest historic homes in St George and an example of the transition from Georgian to Victorian architectural styles.
Lydham Hall was built for businessman Joseph Davis and was later the home to Australian author Christina Stead who wrote The Man Who Loved Children.
The property was purchased by Rockdale Council in 1970 and is managed by St George Historical Society manages Lydham Hall which Rockdale Council bought in 1970.
It houses many items that are on loan from the National Trust of Australia. The collection includes 19th century furniture and an extensive array of Willow Pattern china.
Members of St George Historical Society will be available on the day to tell stories of the people who built and lived in the house.
It will be open from 2pm to 4pm and tickets are $4 for adults, $3 concession and $2 for children.
Lydham Hall is located at 18 Lydham Avenue, Rockdale.
