A South Hurstville man, 41, has been charged after a firearm was found in his car on Thursday.
At 9.40pm police stopped the car and spoke to the driver of a Mazda RX8 after it pulled into a driveway on Marra Place at Sylvania.
Police said the driver told them his licence was disqualified.
Police searched the car and found a loaded sawn off .22 firearm.
They also found tools, a torch, registration plates and a night vision camera.
The driver was arrested and taken to Miranda police station and charged with disqualified driving, larceny, possession of house breaking implements and other firearms offences.
He was refused bail to appear in Sutherland Local Court today.
