Father Martin, who had been a resident at Stella Maris Aged Care in Cronulla, was Australia’s oldest Catholic priest until his death at 99 on March 7.
The Parish Priest of St Catherine Laboure Church Gymea, Monsignor Brian Rayner, who was an altar boy to Father Martin, said about 350 people attended the Requiem Mass.
"Father Frank developed many loyal friends during his wonderful, tireless work over 75 years as a priest,” Monsignor Rayner said.
Father Martin was Parish Priest at Lawson, East Granville and Flemington, and founded the Xaverian Club at Enfield, where he ministered for three decades.
Last year, Father Martin received a papal honour in recognition of 75 years of priestly service.
