A Caringbah teenager is jumping for joy after receiving a scholarship from children’s charity, Variety.
Endeavour Sports High School student, Stephanie Rosevear, 14, has celebral palsy.
She was recently accepted into the school’s talented sports program for her talent in trampolining.
Stephanie is one of 50 children and organisations in NSW who received a scholarship in 2016.
Recipients are rewarded for their demonstrated success and commitment in sport, drama, music or academia.
The scholarship will contribute towards lessons, which Stephanie takes at Miranda RSL Youth Club.
She has also reached competition level with her trampolining, which has helped her improve her physical fitness, muscle strength, balance, coordination and flexibility.
Her mother, Jayne, said trampolining increased her daughter’s self-esteem.
“She was a shy girl who frequently suffered from anxiety,” she said.
“It’s provided her with a positive social network outside school.”
