The Meeting of the Two Cultures ceremony commemorating the 246th anniversary of the landing of Lieutenant James Cook was held this morning at Kamay Botany Bay National Park, Kurnell.
The ceremony was held a short distance from the spot where James Cook stepped ashore and included the traditional Welcome to Country.
The anniversary recognises the first meeting on April 29, 1770 of Europeans and Australia's indigenous people.
