Ronald Ian Cox, 50, has been refused bail after being charged with murder overnight.
The Sutherland man appeared in Sutherland Local Court today after he was arrested when the body of a man was found in a Robertson Street unit.
The victim’s name has been suppressed.
The court heard the man was killed sometime between 8am on April 30 and 4pm on May 3.
A mental health assessment has also been ordered.
He was refused bail to reappear on May 12.

A man is due to appear in Sutherland Local Court today charged with murder.
After 2pm yesterday, police were called to a home unit in Robertson Street, Sutherland, where they found the body of a man, believed to be aged 60.
A crime scene was established and Strike Force Carslake was formed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
The strike force comprises detectives from Sutherland Local Area Command.
A 50-year-old man was arrested about 3.15pm and was taken to Sutherland Police Station where he was charged with murder.
He’s been refused bail to appear in Sutherland Local Area Court later today.
The deceased is yet to be formally identified.
