Lanes will be closed at times outside of peak hours during a $2.5 million maintenance project on Tom Uglys Bridge
Work is due to commence on Monday and take 10 months to complete.
Hours of work will be from 6am to 6pm on weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.
State MPs Eleni Petinos (Miranda) and Mark Coure (Oatley), who announced details in a joint statement, said essential maintenance work would be carried out on both bridges to protect them from rust and corrosion.
Concrete repairs would also be undertaken.
“The working area will be underneath the bridges and, to ensure the safety of road users and workers, there will be some lane closures outside peak travel times,” Ms Petinos said.
The site compound will be in the Tom Ugly’s Bridge Marina car park beneath the southern end of the bridge, with about seven parking spaces unavailable during work.
The MPs said motorists and boaters would be advised in advance of any changes affecting vehicle, pedestrian, cyclist and maritime access.
