Best-selling author, journalist, television presenter and gardening enthusiast Indira Naidoo will visit Hurstville City Library this Thursday to talk about her books The Edible Balcony (2011) and The Edible City (2015).
The books provide practical ‘how-to’ information about creating edible gardens in the backyard or balcony, and about utilising urban spaces to grow produce.
Indira will share handy gardening tips and practical advice on beekeeping, worm farming, composting and setting up a community garden.
She will also share a number of delicious recipes.
Through her books, Indira shows that you don't need a sprawling backyard to grow fruits, vegetables and herbs.
As part of the presentation, Indira will also demonstrate how to plant and look after herb seedlings.
The visit is one of a number of events to celebrate Library and Information Week 2016.
Indira will be visiting Hurstville City Library, corner Queens Road and Dora Street, Hurstville this Thursday, May 26 at 6pm.
The event is free but bookings are essential. To book visit www.georgesriver.nsw.gov.au, call (02) 9330 6111 or emailhcclibrary@georgesriver.nsw.gov.au.
