Big swells: Bate Bay beach received some huge waves today. Picture: John Veage
Surfers were greeted with some of the biggest waves in recent memory this morning thanks to a low pressure system.
Leader photographer John Veage captured the waves at Bate Bay earlier today and said they were some of the biggest in recent memory.
No beaches have been closed but there is a warning for large and powerful surf conditions.
At Kurnell wind gusts reached up to 11 knots just before 11am.
