The construction of the new Rockdale Library is fast approaching completion.
Last week residents had a glimpse of the new building for the first time after boards and scaffolding were removed.
The inside is also on track with carpets being laid ahead of the bookshelves being installed.
The new substation was also powered up on Saturday and the lift is expected to be operational by the end of this week.
Also starting this week will be the outside landscape and paving works.
New granite paving to Princes Highway, Bryant Street and King Lane is the last major activity for the builders
A Rockdale Council spokesman said the works are on schedule with the project to be completed and handed over to council by the end of June.
Library staff then have the enormous task of preparing the building ready for opening in July.
