While many of them might be more comfortable in boots and jeans, the Show All Rural Ball attracted hundreds on Saturday night.
The 303 tickets sold out in a week, a record for the ball which has been running for 13 years.
“I couldn’t believe it, more than half of the tickets were sold after three days,” Agricultural society of NSW Next Generation president Hannah Barber said.
The night started as a networking event but has transformed into a major fundraising night to support rural shows.
“We want to facilitate young people in ag to develop personal and professional skills to help sustain rural shows,” Miss Barber said.
Items donated by businesses were auctioned off with the money going to the scholarship and to fund events run at shows.
