Sutherland and Rockdale City suffered tough losses in round 12 of the NSW NPL 1 competition on Saturday night.
The Sharks went down 3-1 to high flying Manly United at Seymour Shaw Park, Miranda.
The visitors dominated from the opening whistle with Richie Cardozo scoring in the first five minutes before Dejan Pandurevic scored twice for Manly.
Callum Fitzpatrick scored for Sutherland 10 minutes after half-time but it wasn’t enough to stop the Sharks slipping to their eighth loss of the season.
Meanwhile, Rockdale fought back from 2-0 down to level with Bonnyrigg thanks to goals from Alex Canak and Toufic Alameddine.
But the White Eagles restored their two-goal advantage through Ray Miller and Robbie Younis strikes to run out 4-2 winners.
Rockdale will look to bounce back when they host Hakoah Sydney City East at the Ilinden Sports Centre, Rockdale on Sunday.
Kick-off is at 5pm.
Sutherland face a tough away test against second-placed Blacktown City on Sunday.
