A Caringbah man, 28, has been charged after he left the scene of a serious accident in the Royal National Park earlier this month.
Sutherland police said the man was driving a van on Bundeena Drive at 11.05pm on Saturday, May 21, when he lost control around a bend and collided head on with a car coming in the opposite direction.
Police said he left the scene without exchanging details with the other driver.
About two hours later Wollongong police found the van parked on the side of Lady Wakehurst Drive at Otford.
Police arrested him after he refused a roadside breath-test.
He was taken to Helensburgh police station where he again refused a breath-test.
He was charged with refusing to submit to a breath analysis, negligent driving and not giving particulars to the other driver.
