It may be winter but it is still important for kids to keep swimming.
Sheryl Fenn from the Sans Souci Leisure Centre said that children need to maintain the skills they have learnt.
“It is important that with each of the levels they keep progressing rather than falling back and playing catch up,” she said.
A perfect way to ensure kids keep swimming these school holidays is to attend a Sans Souci Leisure Centre intensive.
The Swim School Holiday Intensives run from July 11 to 15, and cost $70 for the five days.

“School holiday activities are important to keep children entertained but it is a great investment into a future skill to keep them in the water throughout the year,” she said.
“There is a fantastic Sea Devils Swim Club that children join and this means that there is a community aspect of belonging that gives them the future chance of entering into a competitive squad and racing at the highest level,” Ms Fenn said.
Our squads are headed by Craig Stevens, a former Australian Olympian and Chris Paul runs the Swim Program with an able group of Swim Instructors.
“The community feeling of the centre ensures that it is not only a place for summer but continues to involve the whole family as others can engage in gym activities, aqua aerobics or simply bring a book, grab a coffee and enjoy the bay,” Ms Fenn said.
