Blue wigs, big hats and whiskers were all the rage at St Francis Xavier Catholic Primary School Arncliffe.
Year 3 and 4 pupils let their imaginations run wild after being inspired by the book Alice in Wonderland by celebrating with a costume parade.
Children walked the playground’s red carpet in crazy and creative costumes as teachers recited their character descriptions.
They embraced the book’s themes “a journey into a world of wonder” and “believing in the impossible” as part of their creative writing studies into the popular fairy tale.
The extravagant showcase was followed by a game of giant chess and a Mad Hatter’s tea party, complete with hot popcorn and crunchy chocolate treats that brought taste buds to life.
