Sweet music: Haruna Thorburn plays outside Kogarah station.
Harpist Haruna Thorburn produced an extra ray of sunshine on a cold winter’s day outside Kogarah station.
Her music touched many, judging by the number of train travellers and shoppers who stopped to listen and leave a coin.
Harpist brings happiness
Ms Thorburn said she plays regularly at Hurstville station, and sometimes visits Kogarah.
“People are very nice,” she said.
“I think it is because they don’t see harpists very much.”
Ms Thorburn, a “stay-at-home mum” with two young daughters, who lives at Jannali, said she started playing the harp six years ago.
“I feel one with it,” she said.
