‘Bringing outside in’ is the name of a new exhibition opening this weekend at the Hurstville Museum and Gallery.
The exhibition showcases the work of artist Maggie Bullock takes her inspiration from her travel experiences.
The paintings featured in ‘Bringing outside in’ draw on photographs of gardens, studies of flowers, as well as cloudscapes and landscapes.
It showcases the way in which artists can transform everyday images and experiences into art.
Maggie Bullock became interested in oil painting in the 1960s, but soon after discovered the sculptural medium of clay.
She has since become a prolific producer of ceramic works. Nine years ago, Ms Bullock decided to go back to her roots and focus on painting.
The ‘Bringing outside in’ exhibition opens on Saturday, July 2 and runs until Sunday, July 24 at the Dragon’s Lair Gallery, Hurstville Museum and Gallery, 14 MacMahon Street, Hurstville.
Opening hours are 10am to 4pm Tuesday to Saturday, and 2pm to 5pm Sunday (closed Mondays).
