Brighton-Le-Sands residents want speed humps or a speed camera installed on Moate Avenue after a fatal accident last week.
Yvonne Socratous has lived on the corner of Bruce Street and Moate Avenue for the last eight years and said she is woken up every night by speeding cars.
‘’I’ve lived here for eight years and for eight years I’ve been trying to get something done,’’ she said.
‘’We pay a lot of money to live here. It’s a nightmare of a street.
‘’I’m at my wits end. I feel like selling up and moving away.’’
She said despite the roundabouts drivers were still using the road as a speedway.
She wants speed humps or a speed camera put in to deter dangerous drivers.
‘’What are we waiting for?’’ she said.
‘’If nothing happens then another accident will happen.
‘’I like nice cars but drivers have to be sensible.’’
The driver wasn’t injured and no charges have been laid.
There have been four crashes recorded at that intersection between January 2011 and December last year.
A Rockdale Council spokesman said a traffic calming scheme was already in place at Moate Avenue between Bestic Street and Bay Street.
That includes the roundabouts.
