A woman has been jailed over the crash that killed much loved Yarrawarrah teacher Marisa Cochrane.
Brook Elise Wardhaugh pled guilty to dangerous driving occasioning death and dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm following the crash at Waterfall in June last year.
The Laser left the roadway and hit a tree, trapping her and her husband John Bussing, then 60, inside.
Ms Cochrane later died in hospital while Mr Bussing still has to use crutches.
Ms Wardhaugh was arrested after she returned a positive roadside breath-test.
During a sentencing hearing on Thursday Ms Wardhaugh was sentenced to a maximum of five years in jail and a non-parole period of two and a half years.
