A new shared walk and cycle path along the edge of Silver Beach, Kurnell, is among improvements that will flow from a $375,000 state government grant.
“This spot is known by locals for its dog-friendly beach, and as a gathering point for kite surfers, beach goers and boaters,” Environment Minister and Cronulla MP Mark Speakman said.
Dune and bush restoration, improved beach access, seating and signage are other features of the project to be jointly funded by Sutherland Shire Council.
The grant was announced by Planning Minister Rob Stokes under the Metropolitan Greenspace Program.
This year’s grants total $3 million and will be delivered by the Greater Sydney Commission.
The program has provided $38 million to councils for 568 projects since 1990.
