The Living Laneways market could make a comeback in Rockdale.
The markets were held in King Street Place mall and the surrounding laneways and were part of the Rockdale Town Centre initiative.
The monthly themed markets included a babies’ and children’s market, a home and garden market, a second-hand/vintage market, a fashion market and a Christmas market.
They were introduced in 2014 but only lasted the year.
But there’s a chance they could be revived after Rockdale Council put out an expression of interest for an operator to run the markets for two years with an option of a third year.
A council spokesman said the markets would add more vitality to the laneways, streets and the city centre.
‘’Our EOI is a method of garnering crucial community and business feedback that will assist us to assess what is possible,’’ he said.
Expressions of Interest will be accepted up until 5pm on Friday, August 19.
Up to 10,000 people lined up to enjoy the latest market, which was held in the council car park in Flora Street.
