Community visit: Danebank students get a close look at the rescue helicopter used by crew from the southern region base.
Students from Danebank Anglican School for Girls, Hurstville, visited the Westpac rescue helicopter southern region base this week, after they successfully completed its schools program.
The group of students were at the La Perouse service base as part of a program that offers schools the opportunity to learn about the vital service crew members perform.
It was designed to teach Australian primary school pupils about the important work done by non-profit emergency services in their communities.
The southern region service has served the area for more than 40 years.
