Teen charged after Sutherland assault
A Sutherland teenager has been charged after an assault in Sutherland on Monday.
Sutherland police were patrolling the Sutherland CBD at 2.35pm then they saw a man, 17, assaulting another teenager.
Police pursued on foot after the man fled; capturing him a short distance away.
Police said during his arrest they found a small amount of cannabis.
He was taken to Sutherland police station where he was charged with assault and possession of a prohibited drug.
He was released on conditional bail to appear in Sutherland Children's Court on August 30.
