Being connected and providing support to local business is what the Cronulla Chamber of Commerce is all about.
The annual Cronulla Chamber Charity dinner held at Blackwood pantry in May raised approximately $6000 and was split between two local charities,The Dandelion Network and BeConnected services.
The Cronulla Chamber has raised more than $40,000 over the last four years of its successful charity dinners which is put directly back into the Cronulla community helping people have more positive lives.
BeConnected Community Services general manager Helen Ivory has been providing support services to aged people and people who are disadvantaged for many decades.
“We are sincerely grateful for the financial donation we have received from the Cronulla Chamber of Commerce again this year after their fabulous fund raising dinner at Blackwood Pantry,” Ms Ivory said.
“Most of our clients are aged and have low mobility and this donation will help us to provide affordable transport for them to attend social activities and healthy living groups to help keep them fit, well and socially active.”
Ruth Gardner who has been involved for more than 20 years first as a worker and now a group member praised everyone involved.
“BeConnected does what it says, they provide transport and active walking groups and it keeps me interacted with people my own age in the community.”
