A development application has been lodged for stage three of the East Quarter development at Hurstville including a 21-storey tower and 556 apartments.
The $193 million project by developers Roche at 93 Forest Road will include 4345 square metres of retail space, podium levels and basement car parking.
The application was lodged on August 12 and further details are expected to go up on the Georges River Council website next week.
First stage of the project was approved back in 2004.
Records of the former Hurstville Council show a development application was submitted for stage three of the project, comprising two buildings of 19 and eight storeys in November 2013 and it was withdrawn in April 2014.
Hurstville Council entered into a voluntary planning agreement with East Quarter Hurstville Pty Limited to extract almost $1 million of benefits for the city.
Under the agreement struck in December 2011, the developer is required to provide:
landscaping to the value of $400,000 on specified council land including footpaths, street furniture, planting, and undergrounding of overhead power cables;
- landscaping and associated works at Kempt Field, which is adjacent to the East Quarter site, to the value of $350,000;
- a contribution of $185,198 to Hurstville Public School;
- public access to the development’s plaza, an area of about 2800 square metres, and to associated landscaped corridors leading to Kempt Field.
