If Australia finally make it back to the Olympic handball stage in Tokyo, Jordan Weber will hope to be on the plane.
Weber, from Oatley, was part of the NSW side that took out the Australian National Junior Handball Championships on the Gold Coast late last month.
The year 10 student at Inaburra School has represented NSW for the last six years and, after winning three of their four matches against the likes of Queensland and Wellington (New Zealand), NSW were named national champions.
Australia haven’t played at the Olympics since their only appearance at Sydney 2000 but that hasn’t stopped Weber, a speedy right winger, from making it his dream.
“I want to play for Australia but... it’s hard to compete against the European teams who are [really good],” he said.
“But it’s something I’d love to do.”
