Celebrating the anniversary of the legendary recording Hot August Night, Peter Byrne brings Neil Diamond to you together with a 30-piece symphony orchestra.
It’s almost 40 years since Neil Diamond stepped on stage at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles with a symphony orchestra and recorded what is still known today as one of the greatest epic live albums of all time.
Now that album will be recreated in its original format and note for note by Byrne and the Sydney International Orchestra.
Byrne’s show will feature classic songs Crunchy Granola Suite, Cherry Cherry, Sweet Caroline and I am I said.
Byrne began his career singing in pubs in his birthplace, Dublin, and had his first big break as the support act for the Furey's, until he set off for Australia.
“I came from Ireland 28 years ago, and got offered a job singing in a restaurant and never looked back from there,” Byrne said. “My show's been going on for 25 years."
After he performed the music of Neil Diamond in a cabaret show at a pub in Paddington, Byrne created his tribute show Forever Diamond, and has since produced two more, Hot August Night and Legends of Ireland.
He has been on national TV, including Good Morning Australia and The Midday Show.
