Rockdale Library is home to about 10,000 Australian native bees that have moved into a custom designed bee house on the second level.
The small, stingless Tetragonula bees have made a home in the new huts.
Unlike other types of European bees they produce only a small amount of sugarbag honey and only come out when the weather is warmer.
