Sutherland Shire will welcome spring at the Cronulla Spring Festival on the weekend of September 10 and 11.
Held in Cronulla Street and the plaza, the event is Sutherland Shire’s largest community festival features shopping, food, rides, a carnival and plenty of entertainment.
And it’s all within a stone's throw from Sydney's longest beach.
Back for the second year is Kids on the Green a wonderful world of activities, discoveries and fun for kids. Based in Monro Park, opposite Cronulla Train Station, there will be an animal farm, pony rides, a free circus playground, face painting, football fun with Little Kickers as well as parasol painting.
Festival-goers will be able to enjoy a spring picnic in Monro Park and listen to the music presented by neighbouring café, A Touch of Eden.
There will be live entertainment on two stages. The Pavilion Stage at the northern end of Cronulla Street is set to be the hub for live shows, dancing and bands with a focus on local performers.
The Brass Monkey stage located outside the old Commonwealth Bank will preview what’s to come at Australian Music Week later in the year.
The popular Hot Potato Band will be performing and there will also be some high rise action on stilts from Birds of Paradise.
Peryman Square will be the venue for the RSL Motoring enthusiasts Club Show and Shine event where everyone competes for the Best in Show award.
There will be over 100 market stalls to choose from as well as more than 100 specialty shops in Cronulla open all weekend.

Some temporary road closures will be in place along Cronulla Street and Surf Road (between Cronulla Street and Surf Lane) from 4am Saturday September 10 to 7pm Sunday, September 11.
Anyone planning to park in these areas on Friday night, please make sure your vehicle is removed by 4am the next morning.
Surf Lane will remain open. Please check street signs for parking restrictions.
