A teenager has been charged after a high-speed pursuit between Liverpool and Wolli Creek on Friday night.
On Friday afternoon a Mercedes C63 AMG was stolen from a panel beaters at Bondi and was later seen in Gill Street at Liverpool at around 6:30pm.
When police approached the car it drove away and through a red light.
Police started a pursuit but it ended a short distance away after safety concerns.
Police started several more pursuits from Liverpool through Bankstown, Condell Park, and Padstow, but all were terminated because of safety concerns.
PolAir was called to help and tracked the vehicle onto the M5 and the Princes Highway where it lost a front tyre.
It continued on rims until it spun out of control.
The driver, 17, was arrested at 9pm at Wolli Creek.
The teen was taken to Kogarah police station where he was charged with taking and driving a conveyance, driving unlicensed – never held, three counts of police pursuit – driving in a manner dangerous (Skye’s Law), driving in a manner dangerous, and not stopping at a red light.
