A former doctor jailed last week for indecent assault is facing two extra assault charges.
John Kearsley who was sentenced to a minimum of 27 months in the NSW District Court last Friday has since been charged with two new counts of assault with an act of indecency.
During a brief mention in Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday his defence lawyer entered a plea of not guilty.
The matter will return to Sutherland Local Court on October 11 after a brief of evidence has been served.
Kearsley, 63, was the director of radiation oncology at St George Hospital when he slipped a heavy sedative into the woman's wine in November, 2013.
The young female medical trainee went to the home of a senior oncologist hoping to talk about a mentoring program and her future as a doctor.
The woman, who was a registrar at the time, would later tell police that she felt drowsy not long after eating prawns and sipping red wine with the former doctor in his Glebe unit.
The woman said she remembered waking up in a bedroom where Kearsley was sucking on her nipple.
Kearsley was later charged with administering an intoxicating substance and indecent assault.
On Friday, Kearsley was sentenced to a minimum of two years and three months in jail.
He will be eligible for parole November, 2018.
Court documents tendered during Kearsley's sentencing hearing state the victim felt dizzy on the night she was indecently assaulted.
The facts state that Kearsley said to his victim, “Lie down, I'll teach you a relaxation technique.”
He then took off her boots and positioned her on the couch where he said, “I'll give you a head massage.”
The victim later remembers waking up in a bedroom, and Kearsley putting his mouth over her left breast.
She said "no" and he told her to "relax".
When she was able to, she got up, put on her boots and left before driving to her home in Balmain.
"You basically took my top off and you were like, licking my breasts," she said to her attacker in a telephone conversation that was being taped by police.
In the conversation, Kearsley pleaded with her.
"Can you forgive me for what has happened? And if this were reported I mean, obviously, I guess my whole career would be, would be finished."
Kearsley pleaded guilty last October to using an intoxicating substance to commit an indictable offence, and assault with an act of indecency.
In July, the woman told the court how the crime had affected her.
She explained how she had been robbed of her self confidence and worth.
Kearsley has not worked at St George Hospital since he was charged with the offences in February 2014 and his employment was terminated after he entered guilty pleas in October 2015.
