Four girls from Danebank Hurstville have won the Australian Choose Maths Awards 2016.
The team of year 10 students excelled in the competition, which celebrates mathematical achievement and excellence in Australian schools.
The awards encourage students to get creative as they step beyond the classroom to bring their love of mathematics to life on film.
Students explore problem solving and real-world applications in an engaging way.
This year’s competition theme was ‘maths is more than just numbers’.
Students produced a video that explained a mathematical problem, or demonstrated an application of mathematics using clear and precise mathematical language.
The Danebank group created a film titled Everything Around Us – Pi Hard.
