Police have charged three men after several robberies across the St George area in the last two years.
About 9.30am on Thursday, August 28, 2014, St George police were called to a shop on Kingsgrove Road at Kingsgrove after reports shots had been fired.
Witnesses said the shots were fired by a man in a passing car.
A short time later the car, a grey 2008 Audi station wagon, was found with partial fire-damage in a nearby street. Officers also recovered firearms from inside the car.
Police believe the same vehicle was also used during the series of armed robberies.
That includes hotels in Bexley, Mortdale, Fairfield and South Hurstville. A Sydney CBD hotel and a licensed club in Rockdale were also targeted.
Strike Force Culch was established in April 2014 to investigate the robberies and have previously arrested three men.
About 10am on Wednesday NSW Police arrested three men, 22, 25, 25, at a correctional centre.
The younger man was charged with robbery whilst armed with a dangerous weapon.
A second man, 25, was charged with six counts of armed robbery and two counts of aggravated break.
The third man, 25, was charged with seven counts of armed robbery, two counts of aggravated break and enter and discharging a firearm into a house with disregard to public safety.
All three men will remain in custody to appear in Central Local Court on September 8.
