Created by Sportwell and supported by Macquarie Sports, this is the first event of its type in Australia with kids, mentors, water safety and volunteer helpers, all females.
“We aim to inspire young girls to stay active in surf sports through their teenage years and also to encourage them to maintain a healthy body, mind and mateship” said Steve Southwell of Sportwell. “We will do this via a holistic approach delivered by some of the biggest names in surf sports.”
The girls will be put through their paces and instructed by top Ironwoman Liz Pluimers,Georgia Miller,Lizzie Welborn ,Harriet Brown and Hannah Minogue.
Over 100 girls will be coming to Wanda to learn from their idols
“We have been blown away by the support of this event with entries fully subscribed over six weeks ago. We have kids coming as far north as Yepoon, right down to Melbourne and everywhere in between.” said Steve Southwell
A donation for volunteer support will be going to Wanda JAG and they hope to make this an annual event.
