Last week Sutherland Shire Libraries held an instagram photo competition for the Shire’s young people over the popular Book Week period.
Participants were required to reflect the theme ‘Australia! Story, Country’ and post a photograph of their favourite book on their instagram page with the hashtag #sslbookweek2016 to confirm their entry.
The winner was 16 year old Sally Tran a student at Woolooware High School who used the book ”Goodnight Mister Tom” a children's novel by the English author Michelle Magorian with dramatic lighting and some Australian props.
Sally received a $50 Westfield voucher, two of the photographic judge John Veage’s photographic books and a prestigious certificate to showcase her win.
Details of the competition were posted on the Sutherland Shire Library’s Instagram page, @sslyouthconnect, which utilises social networking to promote library services to young people between the ages of 13-24.
