From Connells Point to the United Nations headquarters in New York, Michael Donohoo, 24, had the chance to speak on a global scale.
Mr Donohoo was one of six Australians under the age of 30 selected to attend the Merit 360 Conference – a program for people who want to tackle sustainable development goals.
His project focused on responsible consumption and production, and was published in Forbes magazine.
“My work looked to identify communications strategies and initiatives to help build understanding and youth engagement,” he said.
“Young people are mostly disengaged with global issues at a local and global level.
“This shows there are paths where young people can share their opinion and help develop solutions to the issues of our time.”
