GEARS and Beers organiser Phil McIntosh said there were multiple benefits of the festival for the wider community.
As well as playing host to a fun social event that promotes fitness, Gears and Beers is a tourism driver and a community fund-raiser.
“It is developing into a massive tourism driver, bringing people to Wagga from all over the country,” Phil said.
“This year we are tracking the postcode of all participants so we can see how many people from outside the 2650 postcode come for the event.
“It’s all about heads on beds for Wagga and the more nights they stay the better it is for all businesses.
“It is capable of generating a lot of money for the Wagga community.”
