St George FA have added the state league grand final to the premiership won in their inaugural season with a thrilling penalty shootout victory over Hurstville FC.
In perfect conditions at Valentine Sports Park, Glenwood on Saturday, the match finished 1-1 after 90 minutes thanks to goals to Hurstville midfielder Paul Gagro just before half-time and a John Tsironis penalty for St George midway through the second half.
St George looked to have had the match won in the second half of extra-time when winger Jason Lazarevski gave them a 2-1 lead.
Hurstville then had an Adrian Livio effort ruled out for offside before a Herny Kamleitner header in the 120th minute gave them the latest of equalisers.
St George goalkeeper Marko Bozic saved Rachid Hussein and Michael Janov penalties, allowing Nick Napoli to win the game and secure the title for St George.
