An air and land search has been launched to find missing Sylvania teenager Cassie Olczak.
Ms Olczak, 16, was last seen at 7pm on Sunday, when she got off a south-bound train at Waterfall train station.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday afternoon mother Connie Olczak said she last saw her daughter at 10am on Sunday when she left to see friends.
“She was very excited to see her friends,’’ she said.
“She had just gotten back from overseas and she missed them and wanted to catch up.’’
Police believe Cassie spent the day with friends before boarding a train at Banksia.
She was last captured on CCTV getting off the same train at Waterfall around 7pm.
She hasn’t been seen since and there has been no activity on her bank account or on social media. Her phone has also been turned off since that night.
Mrs Olczak said she believed her daughter was disorientated from the long overseas trip.
She couldn’t stop the tears as she pleaded with her daughter to come home.
“If she hears this, your friends and family are desperately worried. Please come home,’’ she said
“If anyone knows anything, you’re not in trouble. We just need information.’’
She said her daughter had never left before and wasn’t street smart.
She believes her daughter might have fallen asleep on the train and become disorientated.
“The last text SMS she got was ‘You are incoherent, you need sleep. Go home and get to bed’. That’s all I know,’’ she said.
“I just want her back, she needs medical attention,’’ she said.
“I need her home, my gut feeling tells me she’s alive.
‘’I’m running out of time, I’m desperate.’’
She’s calling on all commuters, particularly who were travelling on Sunday night, to remember whether they saw her.
She said the last few days had been hell.
“I don’t care about me, I care about my daughter,’’ she said.
She described her daughter as quiet with a love of hair and beauty.
“She’s beautiful, she’s a stunner,’’ she said.
Cassie was expected to start a new hairdressing job next week.
Miranda acting Superintendent Gary Ford said a huge search was launched today around the Waterfall area including support from PolAir, officers on trail bikes and the dog unit.
“We need anyone with information of where Cassie might be or anyone who might have seen Cassie since Sunday evening to get in contact with police,’’ he said.
Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
